Geoffrey H. Waggoner was born in Washington, D.C. and lived in Europe until the age of twelve, while his father was assigned as a foreign correspondent with The New York Times.
A graduate of Duke University, he began as a pre-med student, before attaining a degree in psychology in 1973. After a year as a Criminal Investigator for the State of New Jersey, in Newark, he entered the School of Law of the University of South Carolina, graduating in 1977 and beginning his practice as a civil litigator in Charleston that year.
Mr. Waggoner is a member of local, state and national professional associations and has written and lectured to lawyers on various negligence and trial topics. He is included among the personal injury litigation lawyers listed in the 2003-2004 edition of The Best Lawyers in America. He is also a member of The Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
